Knowing what is routine and what needs attention is one of the hardest parts of parenting. While the vast majority of fevers, coughs, and tummy aches resolve with rest and fluids, a handful of symptoms warrant a same-day call.

7 Childhood Symptoms You Should Never Ignore

Call us promptly if your child has

  • A fever in an infant under 3 months, or a fever lasting more than three days
  • Difficulty breathing, fast breathing, or bluish lips
  • Signs of dehydration — no wet diapers, no tears, a dry mouth
  • A stiff neck, a severe headache, or a rash that does not fade when pressed
  • Unusual drowsiness, confusion, or being very difficult to wake

Trust your instincts. You know your child best, and our team would always rather answer a question early than have you wait and worry. When in doubt, call.
